Amanda Townsend is an Associate with May Lightfoot, PLLC. Amanda earned her law degree from The George Washington University Law School. Prior to law school, Amanda attended The Pennsylvania State University where she graduated with a major in Criminology and three minors in Dispute Management and Resolution, Communication Arts and Sciences, and Theater. While in Law School, Amanda published in the Federal Communications Law Journal. She was a member of the GW Mock Trial Board and competed in internal and external competitions. Amanda also served as a Senator and Executive Vice President for the Student Bar Association.
All her life, she has been dedicated to public service. In college, Amanda was the Executive Director of Penn State Alternative Breaks where she recruited volunteers and organized week long service trips to cities around the United States. Amanda also served as a AmeriCorp VISTA volunteer for a year at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley where she helped to provide free legal services to U.S. Veterans. While in Law School, she focused her energy in serving survivors of domestic violence by participating in GW’s Domestic Violence Clinic and interning with AEquitas and the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Amanda is happy and excited to focus her energies to help people injured in the DMV area by providing direct advocacy and lobbying for better regulations.
Amanda Townsend is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland.
